"Organic labeling is all marketing." "Can you prove that the food I eat will give me cancer?" Hopefully, I cannot. I hope I won't be visiting you on your death bed saying, "I told you so." Yes, I have to admit that major food sellers are riding the popularity of a health movement for their profit. But that's old news. Remember when fat was the nemesis and everybody started labeling their snack bars fat free. It didn't matter they were loaded with sugar!
No, I don't buy organic just because the label says organic...or fat free...or low carb. You and I will never be able to rely on labels to communicate the whole truth. If you were to ask me what to eat and what not to eat, I'd tell you I can't. Only YOU truly KNOW your body. How do you feel after you eat? What kind of energy do you have after a meal? When does "elimination" take place? My husband teased me about doing a colon cleanse. He thinks it's hog wash; that our bowels are not dirty. My reply was curt, "Do you really think I would drink charcoal because of the lovely pallette? Do you think I would go through that if I were not in pain?"
Observe food trends with caution. Listen to your body. If your body says, "No alcohol tonight" you had better pay attention. It might be your immune system talking. All things are permissible but not all things are profitable. Eat well and be happy!
